Jay Calder

Jay Calder is a Houston-area potter and art educator, currently an Artist in Residence at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Jay completed his BA at Brigham Young University and his MFA in Ceramics at the University of Puget Sound. He also holds a Secondary Teaching Certification in Art and History from the University of New Orleans and has taught both in Houston (Galena Park, ISD, Houston Community College) and in the Orleans Parish Schools. His strong, functional work has been widely exhibited in the Texas-Louisiana region.
