Jeff Oestreich - Bridging the Gap: Combining Thrown and Handbuilt Elements

18 Hands Gallery is pleased to present a demonstration workshop

Saturday and Sunday, February 6-7, 2010
10AM-4PM

Join renowned potter and artist, Jeff Oestreich, as he bridges the gap between wheel throwing and handbuilding. Jeff will demonstrate the techniques that have made him known throughout the world. Jeffs work is a combination of thrown pieces that are then altered in such a way that they blur the lines between thrown and handbuilt. Jeff is a highly sought after workshop demonstrator and his workshops are full of insightful techniques and tricks. Be prepared for a lively discussion about aesthetics and function. Jeff is a direct descendant of the Leach tradition, having studied with Warren MacKenzie and apprenticed with Bernard Leach himself.
This is a workshop you'll want to attend!
